There is a need - within the framework of Law No. 38/2004, the Basic Law for the Prevention and Rehabilitation and Integration of People with Disabilities, which makes reference to the value of sports practice for citizens with disabilities, including access to the practice of high competition sports (Article 39) - for the development of this sports practice, contributing to the awakening of a greater interest by the scientific community in the study of disabilities, especially with regard to scientific areas that study behavior.

This post-graduate course develops knowledge and skills for intervention with this population (from training in schools to competitive athletes), as a privileged means of improving the quality of life of people with disabilities, enhancing the development of solutions that allow the mitigation of disadvantages caused by disabilities.

This course is addressed to kindergarten teachers, elementary classroom teachers, physical education teachers, coaches of adapted sports athletes, and other people who work with individuals with disablities .
