The course aims to provide social workers who work within the framework of the Strategic Plan for Sustainable Aging da Amadora -PEES - (Amadora is a municipality near Lisbon) with skills that improve the quality of their professional performance with the elderly population and qualify them for the practice of Supervision in Social Work. The PEES is an integrated governance initiative, at the local level, designed to face the challenge of aging, involving close to fifty partner entities.
The course has 10 modules: Professional development; Social work and aging, intervention and innovation; Supervision in Social Work; Stress and burnout in social professions; Reflexivity and Reflective Practice; Team leadership and coordination; Coaching, counseling and personal development; Supervisory Ethics Issues; Supervision Practices; Research-action seminar
The target population are social workers, with technical functions of direct social intervention with elderly people or coordination and direction of tird sector organizations and other social services. The course lasts 1250 hours (300 contact hours) for a total of 60 ECTS.
